KYC & AML Policy
This page covers anyone who opens or holds a Victoria Casino account. It applies from sign-up, through every deposit and withdrawal, and for as long as we hold records after an account closes.
Why We Verify Who You Are
1.1 We only accept players located where local law permits online gambling. Following Canadian rules, we check age and identity and screen for money laundering.
1.2 Verification has four jobs. Keep minors out. Stop fraud. Block criminal money from moving through the casino. Protect your winnings from anyone using your name.
1.3 All balances, deposits and withdrawals are in Canadian dollars (CAD). We charge no fees on deposits or withdrawals.
1.4 Personal data gathered for these checks is processed as described in our Privacy Notice.
Sanctions and PEP Checks
2.1 When you register, we check you against Canadian and international sanctions lists, and we repeat that check regularly.
2.2 A politically exposed person (PEP) is anyone currently or formerly in a prominent public office. Their relatives and known close associates go through the same screening.
2.3 PEPs can play with us. Enhanced checks apply, including detailed questions about where your money comes from.
2.4 If a player matches a sanctions list, we block the account at once and act as Canadian law requires.
Records and Reporting
3.1 We keep identity documents, verification results and full transaction records for as long as Canadian law requires, including after an account closes.
3.2 We report any transaction we judge suspicious to the competent Canadian authorities, plus any other transaction that the law obliges us to report.
3.3 By law, we cannot tell anyone that we have reported them, and we will not confirm or deny whether any report exists.
3.4 Our payment and verification teams are trained to spot warning signs and escalate them for further action.
Identity and Age Verification
4.1 Ahead of your first deposit, we check your full legal name, date of birth and home address, and confirm our services are open in your location.
4.2 Usually this is done electronically, through trusted data sources plus a location check on your device. Many players get verified in moments.
4.3 If the electronic check cannot verify your details, we request documents. These can include:
- Photo ID issued by a government, such as a passport or driver's licence
- A utility bill or bank statement, recently dated, showing your current home address
- Proof that you own the payment account, such as a screenshot of your Interac e-Transfer or Instadebit account with your name visible, or a photo of the front of your Mastercard with the middle digits covered
4.4 Upload clear, full-colour images of the whole document, with all four corners visible. Edited or cropped files are rejected.
4.5 The minimum age is 19. Anyone younger than 19 is refused.
4.6 One account per player. Duplicate accounts are shut down and their bonuses and winnings removed.
Ongoing Monitoring
5.1 Checks don't stop once you register. We monitor deposits, play and withdrawals across every account.
5.2 Patterns that prompt a closer look include:
- Deposits far out of line with your usual play
- Money deposited and taken out again with almost no play
- Payments from accounts held by someone else
- Frequent switches between many payment methods
5.3 Withdrawals go to Interac e-Transfer or Instadebit, and where practical to the same method you deposited with.
5.4 Moved house or changed your name? Update your details by email so your account stays verified.
When Checks Fail
6.1 Where requested documents are not provided or cannot be verified, we suspend deposits, play and withdrawals until the issue is settled.
6.2 Submitting forged or altered documents closes the account. Any winnings linked to the fraud are void, and we take the action the law requires.
6.3 When an account turns out to be owned by a minor, we follow the steps set out on our Protecting Minors page.
6.4 Where the law allows, deposits on a closed account are refunded to the payment account they came from.
Where Your Money Comes From
7.1 We can ask where your playing funds come from and how you built your overall wealth.
7.2 Typical triggers: high deposit totals, a PEP match or a monitoring alert.
7.3 Useful evidence may include payslips, bank statements, property sale documents or inheritance papers.
7.4 Payments in and out of your account may be restricted until we have everything we require.
7.5 These checks also help us spot spending you cannot afford. See our Staying in Control page for limits and breaks.
